2023 Supreme Court "Ceiling" Ornament

The gold plated 2023 ornament features the beautiful ceiling rosettes found in the Great Hall and the Courtroom. The Supreme Court building's architect Cass Gilbert and his drafting team created the rosettes based on classical designs for each ceiling. The rosettes do serve a practical purpose by providing texture to the ceiling to absorb sound, but what draws attention to them and brings the ceiling of each room alive is the decorative painting and gilding applied to the beams and coffers. The SC building and Seal are also featured on this ornament.
